increase capacity of mail box

I am a small business but have lots of incoming emails. My box is constantly full and I can't run a business like this.

How do I increase the capacity of the inbox? With Gmail I personally have over 30,000 but with this, I have less than 100.

Email Storage Options

Hello, Good Day!

May I know what email platform you are currently using? Is it Roundcube? If yes, please contact Homestead Support so we can assist you in adding more email storage capacity. We offer options of 2GB, 5GB, and 10GB, or you may choose to upgrade your email to Google Workspace, whichever works best for you.

To increase your Homestead website mailbox capacity, log in to your Homestead account, go to the email tab, select your domain, click on the specific email address, and choose "Edit Mailbox" to upgrade to a higher storage tier (up to 10 GB). Upgrades range from 500 MB to 10 GB with varying monthly fees, or you can manage existing storage capacity in this section.
Steps to Increase Homestead Mailbox Capacity
Log In: Sign in to your Homestead account.
  • Navigate to Email: Go to the Email tab.
  • Select Domain: If you have multiple domains, select the specific domain for your mailbox.
  • Edit Mailbox: Click on the email address you wish to upgrade (look for the blue mail icon) and select Edit Mailbox.
  • Upgrade Storage: Choose a new, higher storage tier from the dropdown menu and save the changes.
Available Capacity Tiers (via Homestead Community)
  • Tier 1: 500 MB / 10,000 messages (Included)
  • Tier 2: 2 GB / 20,000 messages ($1/month)
  • Tier 3: 5 GB / 50,000 messages ($2/month)
  • Tier 4: 10 GB / 100,000 messages ($3/month)
If you cannot find these options, check the Add-on Services tab for additional storage options or contact Homestead support.

I upgraded my homestead email storage as you described but still not getting new emails
If your Homestead email is still not receiving new messages after buying more storage, the most common issue is that the newly purchased storage has not yet been applied to your specific mailbox. Purchasing an upgrade adds total storage capacity to your account, but you must manually allocate it to the email address. [1, 2]
1. Apply the Storage Upgrade to Your Mailbox
To link your new storage to your email address:
  1. Log in to your Homestead Account Dashboard.
  2. Click on the Email tab on the left menu.
  3. Select your domain name if you manage more than one.
  4. Look for the specific email address that is full and click on it (it should have a blue mail icon).
  5. Click the Edit Mailbox link.
  6. Use the Storage Upgrade Amount dropdown menu to select your new, higher storage tier.
  7. Click Save or Submit to finalize the change. [1, 2, 3, 4]
2. Check for DNS and Domain Settings
If the upgrade is fully applied but you still can't receive mail, it may be due to recent configuration changes or server disruptions:
  • Verify Domain Status: If your domain name expired or if you recently made updates to your website, your email routing can break.
  • MX Records: If your domain's nameservers were pointed elsewhere (like Wix or Microsoft Outlook), your Homestead email service will stop functioning. Ensure your MX records are pointed back to Homestead. [1, 2, 3]
3. Password Expiration Sync Glitch
Homestead systems occasionally stop delivering incoming or outgoing emails without warning if your mailbox password is too old. Go to Edit Mailbox in your account, update your password to a new one, save it, and then update the credentials on your devices. [1]
To help narrow down the cause, could you let me know:
  • Are you checking your emails via the Homestead Webmail / Roundcube browser interface, or a third-party app like Outlook or Gmail?
  • Are senders receiving a specific bounce-back error message when trying to email you?
