WebListings is a way to submit your site on a weekly basis to all of the search engines-Yahoo, Google, Bing etc. We also submit you to 100 different directories including places such as yellowpages.com, superpages.com, where ready-to-buy customers in your city are searching for products and services that you offer. You can also write articles about your business that we submit for you. All you have to do is fill out one form.

Here's some more information on WebListings:

Draw visitors to your site effortlessly
The key to growing your business isn't just getting a website—it's getting customers to find it. With Homestead's online site-creation tools and WebListings service, you can easily and affordably do both.

Attract local customers to your business
Did you know that 93% of consumers prefer using the Internet to find local businesses over Yellow Pages or the newspaper? (Kelsey Group, 2007). WebListings helps boost your visibility on over 100 critical search & directory sites, including Google Maps, Yahoo! Local, and Bing Maps. You can list yourself for free on some sites like Google, but we take care of them for you in one place with a single step, so you don't waste time going to multiple sites yourself every time you add or change something in your business information.

Stand out from the competition
You can easily customize your listing with detailed product or service information, photos, hours of operation, and more. Plus, we pull in reviews from popular sites in one place, so prospective customers have all the information they need to quickly make a purchase decision.

Get some publicity for your site by writing an article
Here's another key benefit of WebListings: you can submit informative how-to articles to the directory that put the spotlight on you as an expert in your field or industry. Articles help draw more focus to your company profile and drive more traffic to your website, which can add up to even more customers for your business.

Hope that helps,

I have updated the address on the website, but when I do a search on my business the internet still has old address. When I try to contact the site i.e. Merchant Circle.com, they want to charge me a fee to update it to several locations that have this old address. How do I change the address so that the Internet displays correctly in searches?

The Weblisting is one of many tools that we have for promoting your business and website. You might think of the Weblisting as the modern day phone book, as it gets you listed in the major search engines and a large number of the online business directories, ie Yellow Pages, Superpager, Dex etc.

The Weblisting is most effective for people who only need to target their local area. If you need to reach beyond your local area, or simply want to be more aggressive, the one strategy that usually gives people the best value is SEO. There is a ton of good information on the internet if you just search for SEO strategies. For those that do not have the time or desire to learn it on their own, we do offer and SEO service, or we even sell an eBook, explaining how to SEO your site with our SiteBuilder software. The book is has a one time cost of $50.

However, every business has different needs so if you want to discuss in more detail which option may be the best please feel free to explain your business model, goals, etc and we'll give you whatever guidance we can.

The only thing I can't figure out on weblistings is how to get my "photo URL" on there. I tried my site address / logo info, etc etc but it doesnt do anything. There's no browse on it, so short of magically knowing what each photo on my site is called, I have no clue.

Anyone know how long before your biz appears on the little google map with the pin point?

The easiest way is to pull up the live website, and do a "right-click" and view the image properties. It will display the image url. If you tell me which image you want to use, I'll get the url for you.

This thread also shows the steps.https://community.homestead.com/homes...

The TrafficBooster is a feature that allows us to create a footer on the bottom of your pages. This footer contains some keywords and reciprocal links to your Weblistings profile.  The combination of they keywords and links is designed to help boost your page rank.   This sort of tool is most effective if you are trying to target customers in your local area. It's hard to say how beneficial it will be.  If your targeting local customers then I would recommend giving it a try but, if you don't see any significant results after 3-4 months then you may want to remove it.

3-4 months? Wow! that's a long time to wait. Can you point me to a tutorial? Seems like Homestead is a waste of money. No customer support except for this blog.

It can take several weeks just for the search engines to index your site and pick up on the changes.  There are a lot of marketing tools available for marketing a website.   This is a very inexpensive tool at just $4.99 per month.  There are many other tools and ways to market a website which can easily reach hundreds of dollars per month.  If you are new to website building and marketing, you may want to call one of our advisors at 800-710-1998.   You can explain your business plan, budget etc, and they will be able to explain or point you in the right direction for the most appropriate tool.

I have weblisting, do I really need the traffic booster? If so, can you tell me how to use it? I asked you if you could point me to a link but you don't do that.

You don't really have to do anything with the Traffic Booster. It is something we handle from our end. Once the Traffic Booster is added to your site, and you log into the SiteBuilder software, you will be prompted to activate the Traffic Booster and it will give you the option of connecting it to your Webllisting profile. Then you simply publish the site and we do the rest.
