If you aren't sure of the difference between POP and IMAP and why you would use one or the other, please click here.

Here are the settings for the stock Android email client. It is somewhat feature poor, but it does connect to the email. For a more feature rich email client, you can download and configure k-9 mail for free.

1) Enter your email address and password and click Manual Setup

2) Click on POP3

3) Make sure your settings match this image, except that you may select the Delete email from server to your needs. Then click next.

4) Enter these settings on the screen.

5) These settings are options. You may set them as needed.

6) The account name is just the name displayed in your account list so if you have several email accounts, it is easily identified. The name, is what will display in the from field when you send email to others. Click next

7)And now you will receive mail.

This page shows the correct settings for POP accounts, or if you are setting up IMAP, double check your settings here;

The best way to configure an android is with the "exhange" configuration, but it does require an Hmail Suite account which is $3 per month. This gives you full synchronization with your email folders, contacts and calendar events:

If you get stuck, let us know which configuration you are using. If you continue to get that same error message the next thing to do us update your email password.

Setup email on Android.

I change my password and can now access my emails on my computer but am still unable to set up my email access on my Android Samsung Note mobile phone. Tried both POP3 and IMAP and message state "unable to verify". Previously it was working fine on POP3. Please advise how to set up.
