Can we keep email box with domain registration only?

Can we keep our email account at Homestead with just domain registration and no website hosting services?

We just re-mapped our domain to a new website at Squarespace. We did not transfer the domain... only pointed it to the new site. And we did not modify any dns records associated with our email boxes.

In June of 2019 our website hosting service with Homestead will be up for renewal... we will not renew the hosting but will keep the domain registration. Will our email continue to work?

We don’t want to go through the effort of getting a Gmail account which is partnered with Squarespace, just want to keep our nice email boxes at Homestead.
