Sites not displaying changes after publishing

I have two sites that I've made changes to. In preview mode the change look good. However, when published the changes are not displayed. My browsers, Google and Firefox have been refreshed ... and even when the message 'Your site has published' and the VIEW option is clicked ... the changes are not displayed.

PLEASE HELP

This issue usually happens when your browser's local cache or your Homestead File Manager is holding onto an older version of your site. Since simple refreshes didn't work, here are the most effective ways to force the live servers to show your latest edits. [1, 2, 3]
1. Perform a "Hard Refresh" (Bypass Cache)
A regular refresh reloads the page using saved files, but a hard refresh forces your browser to download the newest version of your site directly from the server. [1, 2, 3]
  • Windows/PC (Chrome & Firefox): Press Ctrl + F5
  • Mac (Chrome & Firefox): Press Command + Shift + R [1, 2, 3]
2. Check the Live Site in an Incognito/Private Window
Your browser might still be remembering the old version because of stored cookies. [1]
  • Google Chrome: Open the top-right three-dot menu and select New Incognito Window.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Open the top-right three-line menu and select New Private Window.
  • Go to your live website URL in this window to see if the changes appear. [1, 2, 3]
3. Verify Publication in the Homestead File Manager
Sometimes changes are saved successfully but are not explicitly published on a page-by-page basis. [1, 2]
  1. Log in to your Homestead Account.
  2. Go to your Websites Manager and select Edit Site.
  3. Click on your site/domain URL at the top right and select View File Manager.
  4. Look at the published status on the right-hand column. If any of the modified pages do not show a green OK/published status, click the page identifier and select the Publish option from the top menu. [, 2, 3, 4]
4. Check Storage and Page Limits
Occasionally, Homestead will prohibit new pages or updates from successfully publishing if your account plan has exceeded its disk space or maximum page limit. [, 2]
  • Log into your Homestead account, go to My Account > Account Summary to check your used storage/page stats. If you are maxed out, you may need to delete older, unused files or upgrade your plan.

Russell,

Thanks for the detailed response. While the refresh (on both browsers) is something I do automatically, the cookies are another story. It turns out the cookies are the problem.

Thanks for the help.

Hello Good Day!

Please ensure you hit Save first, and then select Publish. Also, make sure you only have one website editor open in your browser at a time.

We recommend clearing your browser cache or trying to access the site using a different browser, as caching may prevent you from seeing the updated version of your website.

Thank you.
