My email was working perfectly on my android phone but recently asked me to sign in and now it doesn't work

It asked me to sign in out of the blue and when I do, it says incorrect username or password. So, I tried to add the account on to my android again but it says "Login Error -- The connection to your mail server timed out. Please check your mail settings.
