IMPORTANT DATA BREACH ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!

Attention everyone. Homestead has seemingly experienced a data breach which includes our account names and our credit card numbers. I got an email this morning telling me that Homestead was unable to charge my credit card and my account is suspended and that if I do not remedy this within the next 30 days my account would be closed. They had my credit card number and my account name. I checked my account and saw that my payment was debited successfully on October 10th. I called into the billing department and spoke with a gentleman who confirmed that the email was not legitimate and was, in fact a phishing attempt. If you get this email do not click on any links. Also, I would suggest calling in to report it to billing support so they realize what a big deal this is. The email will come from the following address: billing@hs-support.homestead-inc.com. I confirmed that this is not a legitimate email address from Homestead.

@reyven4754 I was posting this so that other customers would know about it and not be fooled into clicking on a link. The agent I spoke to this morning did not seem to be aware of this issue. You should have sent out an email to all customers letting us know about this issue so that we could be aware. The email looks very official and they do have my information. The only reason I did not get fooled by it is because I am not as trusting as many people are. So I went directly to the website to check my billing status. Not everyone is that savvy and this could put a lot of people in a very dangerous and devastating situation of identity and financial theft.
