Domain Renewal

I got an email to renew my domain. I called the number and the agent wants too much information. I want to renew the website without having to provide email, last four of SS# and more. None of this makes sense. Never had to do this before and the monthly subscriptions are continually withdrawn from my account.

Can you help or do I need to locate a new provider?

Be careful, seems like a hacker's email. Homestead never have asked me for any personal info, and, in fact, never ask you to call for renewing your domain. I strongly suggest NOT to provide any personal info and call Homestead support (880) 986-0958 instead.

DOMAIN REGISTRATION RENEWAL:
If your website registration was generated by Homestead, they generally renew automatically.

Where is your domain name registered? If you registered your domain name with Homestead, they automatically withdraw renewal fees from your credit card account on file. You can go to https://lookup.icann.org/en, to review your domain registration details.

This same thing happened to me - it looked very legit. I have had websites with homestead for 20 years... and have multiple domains  that I have set up for myself and clients, and have never ever gotten a domain expirey email. But it certainly looked legit and was for the last domain I set up. But the icann site definitely shows my domain has already been renewed until 2026 - and the phone number on the email does not match the number for homestead support/billing.

These scammers are getting very clever, its so frustrating!
