Cancelling services

I have gone through the steps to cancel my services through the portal & I get this message below. Why must I call to cancel? Why isn't there an option to do a live chat to assist me?

Hello,

Cancelling the account immediately requires calling, but you can set your account to close before your next billing date by choosing the option "opt out auto-renewal".

Trying to close my account but the phone number listed will not connect, could be I am in the UK and the moblie service is not set up for international calls? Have read that I can choose to opt out of automatic renewal, but I do not seem able to locate that setting. Renewal is due in July. Please advise. Kind regards B West
