photos insertion

Hello
      A number of times my photo insertion will work well where my photo is full size, but then the next photo is too small (e.g. 1 x 1 inches), but then if I try again it is inserted in its correct large size.  Now I cannot get any of my photos to be inserted normal, they are all too small!  Help!
