HTML not working

I am having troubles getting a pieve of HTML to show up on my page; I have put it in the Header and the Footer, brought it to the front, and when I publish it still doesn't show up.
I have encoutered this same issue before and simply cannot remember how I fixed it last time. My husband (tech savvy) is away for the moment and customer service isn't available (ever).
