Website Theme Change

Hi there, I was looking at changing the theme for my website. However I noticed it says "Changing your Website Design will DELETE your current site pages and files. You will lose all the work you have done on your current site." does this mean the website would go "offline" while I change it? or does it remain published and I just can't access the previous files?

Thanks

Oh don't just CHANGE it, because not everything on your current site won't make it to the new template.  I am pretty sure the files will remain in their folders.  You can't clone these like the old days.   I recommend copying all your pages text to a document (WORD).   You can try out a new template by creating a new site to act like a temporary/trial site.  Once you find one you like, you could apply it to your current site and use that word document to fill in anything that disappears.  I would also recommend having a conversation with Homestead's tech people before you do that, just to be sure I am not steering you wrong.

Hello,

My recommendation would be to simply rebuild your website in the new site, under the WebsiteBuilder editor. This will give you a much more modern website, that is mobile-friendly and secure. Once you're done, you can simply switch your domain over to the new site.

@elyzabethv

Thank you for your response, I have finished my website in the builder.

How exactly do I switch my domain over from my current website to my test website?

Thanks in advance.
