The Benefits Of eCommerce

The Benefits Of eCommerce

The world is moving online. More and more, people turn to the internet to meet their needs. There are online classes, doctors visits, and communication. People turn to their phones to get directions, restaurant suggestions, and company reviews. If you are not online at this point, you are not only not in control of the conversation happening online about your company, but you are missing out on important connections.

For companies that sell products of any kind, this means that if you don't have an eCommerce store, you are limiting your success. This is not to say that you shouldn't have a brick and mortar store. They have their benefits, to be sure, but you should also be offering your products and services online whenever possible.

Here are some of the benefits:

  1. Wider Customer Base
With a brick and mortar store, you are limited to the customers that are able to walk through your door. With an online store, people from across the country, or even the world, can look through and purchase your products.

  2. Search Engine Visibility
Once you've added your products online, search engines like Google can crawl your store to get this information. Then, your products have a chance of appearing in the search results when people search for relevant terms.

  3. Lower Overhead
Online selling decreases your costs in many ways. You might not need to have a building lease at all, as well as utilities, cleaning services for your store, and cashiers to ring up customers. You simply need your online store and somewhere to store your goods. This could save you a good amount of money.

  4. Store Organization
With an eCommerce store, you will have navigation and organization that will make it so easy for customers to find exactly what they are looking for. You can also add variants, so people can select the size and color with ease.

  5. Convenience
People will not need to travel to your store to buy items, saving them time and money. This also makes it easier for people who do not have the means to travel to be a customer.

  6. Online Incentives
Since you're saving money by selling online, you're able to offer customers incentives like 10% off their first order with a discount code or free shipping. These can be shared via social media channels with a link to your store!

  7. Item Descriptions
You can add detailed item descriptions, dimensions, weight, and images to each product. This information is also pulled by search engines to better filter search engine results.

  8. Better Hours
With an online store, there's no limit on what time of day someone can purchase products from you. This will open your store to people in different time zones, people who work during business hours, and 2 AM insomnia shoppers.

  9. Unique Items/Digital Items
When you're selling a niche item, it can be difficult to find success in a brick and mortar store. Online selling makes it easier for you to find the proper customers. It also provides a platform to sell items that can't necessarily be sold in stores like online classes, digital art, and music files.

  10. Easier Social Sharing
Links to your store or individual products can be shared anywhere. That means there is no limit to the customer base you can expand to if you take the time to find the right platform.

Can ecommerce benefit my online rental business? I uploaded my items but not sure how that works for rental units.
