SiteBuilder desktop version not working

The SiteBuilder desktop version hasn't been working since yesterday. Can't log in. A Login Error sign pops up saying, "There has been an error logging in. Please double-check your username and password"

You will be really lucky if the old desktop version ever works again.

Right now "Sitebuilder Plus" is having major issues.

Having same problem with desktop SiteBuilder software. Frustrating to say the least.

@edgar6303 It is more disgusting than just frustrating. It has been like this for almost two weeks now. This has to be the worst service ever in the industry. I wish we could all give them a one-star review on Google. Alas...

@rick2482You better check in with someone at HS. I doubt the old desktop builder will ever work again.

Do you have any information on this Martin? Or is this based on them phasing it out?

It has been several years now. They said development/maintenance of Site Builder Desktop was stopping. After this last fiasco with SB Plus, I am just speculating that the desktop is dead and gone.

It would be nice if they had an employee here more than once in a while.

Good luck to all. The good old desktop version was great!

I have used desktop SiteBuilder almost every day for 24+ years with only occasional outages for maintenance until this month, so it has not been down for me for several years.

Yes. I am having this same issue today. Please notify when fixed or a work around is found.

I called the Help Desk 2 weeks ago and was told engineers are working on the problem. I asked if the person was being honest about this, and was told yes.

@edgar6303 They probably thought you were talking about Site Builder Plus. I am pretty sure Site Buillder Desktop is dead. It was good while it lasted...good luck, maybe "Ely" will jump on here and clarify it for us.

Hello,

Unfortunately, we have not supported the Desktop version of the editor in quite some time. We've been urging customers to switch to Sitebuilder Plus, at least. Desktop hasn't been available for new downloads in years. It does look like this latest update changed security settings that are not compatible with the editor, so it is no longer working.

Created my site in 2000, and in 25 (minus early years when free) years of receiving billing notices there was not a prominent message to desktop users about this termination of services. Thank goodness for Sitebuilder Plus.

@elyzabethv Thank you for this update. I know that desktop has not been supported in several years and that this day would ultimately come. I appreciate you being open about the situation.

I assume the domain registration issue will not have an effect on pointing domains from other registrars. Please confirm.

I will spend the holidays rebuilding my remaining sites. I love the new online version, but several clients really don't want ANY changes to their site. I will rebuild as close as possible to the previous layout. I've already started several site drafts in anticipation of this time.

Thanks again!
