How to specifically migrate from SiteBuilder Plus to Web Builder (new one) without deleting existing site
As stated, question, how do we migrate from the no longer supported Sitebuilder Plus, to the new and improved Web Builder program? I have no desire to be forced to build a new site nor do I have a desire to go through a nightmare of switching things around, changing site names and the whole host of other possible issues. I feel that this is something Homestead should have arranged for us beforehand and not let us find out by seeing our sites corrupted with strange characters, all because they decided to stop supporting the builder we were using, that they supplied.
So Homestead, I need a step by step instruction on how to move things into your new builder format, without having to delete my existing site and forced to create a new one. Apparently there are many of us who want the same information supplied.

I am sorry to let you (and others) know that there is no way to migrate the SiteBuilder to Website Builder, as the new platform is online based and you can't transfer pages as a whole. You are going to have to choose a new template and rebuild BUT while you are doing that, nothing happens to your old site until you are ready. When you go to Build A New Website in Website Builder, you also choose a name. You can use your current domain name because it adds ".homesteadcloud" to the name and it is treated like a separate domain (temporary) you would just have to re-associate your working domain name to the new site when it's ready. This is done in the DOMAIN MANGER on the log in page. It's pretty easy.
Now for having to rebuild the site, since I have revamped about 20, since Website Builder came out years ago, the easiest way I found to move everything over is to open the site in public view in a separate window, grab all the text from each page and put it into a WORD document. Myself, I just put all the text on the pages into one document and identify each page within it. Then as I transfer it, I change the color of the text so I know I used it. For pictures and files, I just drag them onto the desktop into a folder to use. SiteBuilder Plus MAY still have a download files option, it's just been so long, I do not honestly remember. Using the new Website Builder gives you an opportunity to maybe streamline your pages and messaging because now it is all about pictures and less about text. You will also see in the templates that much more information is on the home page (where we used to use tabs and extra pages) because over 75% of users are now using mobile and they scroll rather than clicking on links/menu buttons. The new builder also creates a decent mobile site at the same time. This is very useful. I know it's frustrating and there is a little learning curve on the new & better tools, but this is really your only option. From what I have been seeing, SiteBuilder is clearly on its last legs. I would be happy to talk to you to help you make the jump. You didn't mention your site name, so I can't see how complicated it is. You can get in touch with me at picturethismultimedia@comcast.net if you want some specific advice. I hope that helps.
