How to know when I need to log in again to website builder?

If I've been working in website builder, and step away for a bit, when I come back everything seems fine. However, after making some changes it will have problems saving or starts getting an error message. I have to go to the main page and log in again, but I lose that work I've done. If it times out, why doesn't it bring the login screen again? Is there any way to know when I need to log in again?

Been there.  There doesn't seem to be a set time for it to time-out.  It looks like somewhere between 10-15 minutes of idle time.  After having lost time and effort a couple of times due to this, and it doesn't auto-save. I manually save after about every 5 minutes.  It is a good habit to get into so that your work is not lost.

I do save regularly. It's just that when I come back after a few minutes away, the screen is still as I left it. So I start to work, then next time I save I get errors. I then need to manually go to the main Homestead menu and log in again. I wish it would time out and go to the login screen or something so I know that I need to log in again.

The "best" way to test it is to try to publish when you return and see if it saves.  You may have to then sign in again, but your changes should still be saved, just not published.  It is a clunky way to have to work, but it is what it is with Homestead now.
