Download archive

Homestead tech support has informed me that I can not download copies of my files from my website to my laptop as backup. The cause is that 'websitebuilder' doesn't have this capability. Has anyone developed a method by which I can download my files?

Copy and paste to your email and file the email or download from you email.

Thanks but I've got about 100 files. Would take lots of time and effort to accomplish. Was hoping that someone had determined to make Homestead act like it has a file manager.

I know there's a way because I followed instructions for one of my websites a couple of weeks ago. Now I need to download the content of my second website and can't find the instructions. It was simple.

Got this from Chat GPT, and it worked for me:

IF your site is a SiteBuilder Plus site:

1. Go to Homestead.com and sign in.

2. Go to Websites Manager.

3. Select the website you want to save.

4. Look for MORE under the EDIT SITE  button.

5. Choose "Create new site archive file."

6. Wait for Homestead to finish creating the archive.

7. Go back to MORE if necessary. Select "Download site archive." Homestead will download a ZIP file containing the site's files and images.

Hurray! Done in a flash! Everything on your website in one download, viewable by hundreds of files.
