Who do I contact about having an image removed from my Websitebuilder site (which isn't published yet)?

I've been with Homestead since 2000. I am a professional artist and teacher, who has built an art instruction site. One of the lessons is figure drawing, and I included on that page an image of a seated nude model, which I drew myself in charcoal. This image is not pornographic in any sense whatsoever, and is necessary for me to use to teach figure drawing. Who do I need to speak to about this?

I doubt anyone from Homestead "deleted" this drawing. You should try and go back and add it to your site.

There is a notice in my images folder where the image was, that said that the image violated Homestead's terms of service, and the image is gone.

That is crazy. Hopefully someone from Homestead will see this and be able to help you.

I hope so, because I'm almost finished rebuilding my 100+ page site in Websitebuilder, after 3 years. Removing the artistic nudes excludes many artists, especially those who work with the nude figure - and that would include da Vinci and Michelangelo - from having a website with Homestead. It would also exclude any art teaching that deals with the human figure, and that is all art instruction. Learning to draw, for example, is 100% dependent on drawing the human form.

Can someone from Homestead please respond to my question about my image being removed? Thank you.

Hello,

Unfortunately, we don't have a way around this. Images that are uploaded to Website Builder use Google storage servers, Google storage is scanned for images that do not comply with Google terms of service. We have found that some images may be removed when they do not appear to violate Google's terms of service. Google has given a way to scan the image before uploading so the image can be verified, but they have not given the option to have the image reviewed.

Thank you for responding to my question. My current Homestead site, www.ndoylefineart.com, has this same image, which has been online for 20 years. Are there any other things that Google can remove - like other images or text? And also, searching in Google images brings up images of the nude figure from great artists, so why the censorship with our websites? I do not want to have to go to another host and spend another number of years rebuilding the site for the third time! Thank you for your assistance.

This is the tool that is used for filtering.

https://cloud.google.com/vision/docs/drag-and-drop

For WebsiteBuilder sites, it only filters images, but any image can be flagged if it is deemed inappropriate by this tool.
