Published Site Issue

When I search my published site, the first page it opens is my second page on Homestead?  When in Homestead editing it does show my home page correctly.  How do I correct?

@tanya7313 Hello, we have corrected the A records of your domain and published the editor. Please check your website. Thank you.

Thank you, however when I search the website - why does it show the designs-apparel section underlined? I assume the underline link is what most people click on - and it's not the home page of my website.  Please advise.

To enable Google Search to crawl your updated website, you need to create a Google Search Console account. Once your account is set up, you can add your domain and manage indexing settings.

You may start here: Google Search Console

Step‑by‑Step Instructions

Step 1: Create a Google Account

  • If you already have a Gmail or Google account, you can use it.

  • If not, sign up at accounts.google.com.

Step 2: Access Google Search Console

Step 3: Add Your Website Property

  • Click “Add Property”.

  • Choose either:

    • Domain property → covers all URLs under your domain (recommended).

    • URL prefix property → covers only URLs under a specific prefix.

  • Enter your domain or site URL exactly as it appears in the browser.

Step 4: Verify Ownership

Google requires proof that you own the site. Options include:

  • DNS verification → Add a TXT record in your domain host (e.g., GoDaddy).

  • HTML file upload → Upload a file provided by Google to your site’s root directory.

  • HTML tag → Add a meta tag to your site’s homepage.

  • Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager → Use existing accounts if already set up.

Step 5: Confirm Verification

  • Once verification is successful, your property will appear in Search Console.

  • If DNS verification is used, propagation may take a few hours.

Step 6: Submit Your Website for Crawling

  • In Search Console, go to URL Inspection Tool.

  • Enter the URL of your updated page.

  • Click “Request Indexing”.

  • Google will then crawl and index your site.
