Can you provide a description of your business?

We offer four different dog services; Sitting, Walking, Training, and Poop Clean-up. We have over 12 years of combined experience with training and fostering.

How did you get started in this business?

Our passion for helping dogs and their owners understand each other led us to start this business where we can make a real difference in their lives.

How do you market your business?

We rely mostly on word of mouth, including placing rack cards and business cards in the dog industry related businesses in our area. We have a website, a Facebook page, and we are active on NextDoor.com. We are beginning to promote our business on Pinterest and are looking into other ways to market.

How has technology, such as computers and the internet, impacted on how you conduct business?

Technology plays animportant role in how we conduct business. We use GPS to let our clients knowwhen we are at their homes, and where we are when walking their dogs. There isa client portal for them to set up their appointments, and an app that lets ustext directly through our administrative software, which lets me keep all conversationsright in each client record.

How important is social media to your business?

We rely on social mediato keep in touch with our customers. At this time, Facebook is the platformthat we use most, but we plan to branch out to Twitter and other social mediacommunities soon. Facebook allows us to communicate with our customers in amore personal manner than just our website. It makes it possible to have areal-time conversation in a way that a website isn’t able to do.

I think the text design and background colors could be significantly improved to make the page much more attractive to new readers. Background colors would enhance the page. It looks cheap and one immediately questions whether the service is equally cheap in terms of quality and reliability.

Colored backgrounds create problems with text colors. The page layout needs help and the menu needs to be developed. The front page needs a top middle and bottom structure. Moving the menu to the top and embellishing the theme surrounding the menu would add shape. The other elements on the page need to be featured with frames and text. The menu could developed on the side and the page content could be developed using that structure as well. It's a start.
