Can you provide a description of your business?

Picture This Multimedia is a virtual advertising firm that specializes in Commercial Photography for all marketing applications, marketing support materials (corporate identity) and website“remodeling” and business event planning.  (AND SOON, DRONE PHOTOGRAPHY!!)

How did you get started in this business?

I was a realtor and decided to market my listings differently by producing “video home tours” about 10 years too soon,so I evolved into more traditional advertising for business-to-business clients and have added a variety of services and skills to my repertoire since then. 

·How do you market your business?

Personal networking is still at the heart of my marketing, but I also use small batch, company-specific, photographic mailed invitations, social media directed to my site.

How has technology, such as computers and the internet, impacted on how you conduct business?

The common use of pdf, jpgs and the cloud have made working with clients anywhere in the country (or the world) seamless.  Having a true dual platform MacBook doesn’t hurt either, although Windows-based info is less important now thanks to those PDFs that I can edit. I now have clients in many states and Australia.

How important is social media to your business?

Social media is quite directly important for MY business, but I use it a lot on behalf of clients, creating ads, photos, posts and some Live videos.  Being Business to Business I have not yet found it as effective for all clients.  It’s great for events.  I don’t use Instagram very much for clients (yet) because the audience skews younger and is not appropriate for all things.
