Once Again Homestead Lacks Capability to Serve its Customers

Here we go again with technical problems - unable to edit our websites. Homestead continues to take our monthly charges but doesn't continue to keep up on what is needed to provide the service we are paying for. Homestead is proving to be a very disappointing website host.

Hello,

Our engineers are aware of and working on the issue. There is currently no ETA, but we will get this resolved as quickly as possible.

@elyzabethv Thanks so much! I'm sure it's overwhelming keeping up with changing technology. I'm sure it's as frustrating for the techs working on it as it is us unable to work on our websites. I do have a question about the web.com site builder platform y'all are giving us to use for re-creating our websites. Can I email my issue with someone who can help??

Unless it has sensitive information, in which case, you can create a new, private conversation.

Ok... thx... I started a new website to run consecutively with the original in case it goes down. I contacted Web.com multiple times, but they have no access to this in spite of it being on their platform. I need to add the domain name - but Homestead isn't able right now to do that - and to add the domain to Cloudflare so Google Search can find it. If I need to wait, I can - but thought it'd be nice to have it set up. I don't want to keep adding to the new site until I know it'll be a valid site moving forward. Ok... thx... Ah, yes, Web.com wouldn't have access because Homestead actually isn't on their platform. We're two separate companies. We just have the same owners/parent company.

We did have to suspend domain registration for Homestead due to an issue we were experiencing with fraudulent domain registrations. I am hoping this doesn't last for long, but for now, I won't be able to help you register that domain either. Domain registration is locked for Homestead completely.

Hopefully this added security indicates they are not only working on the issues, but maybe getting close to fixing them??

I did get word that this issue should be resolved, but where are you seeing this captcha?

@elyzabethv

They've been saying that every time I call, starting last Friday, "expect it to be fixed later today".

Noticed a new message, stating to remove pop up blocker from site info from search area icon located at left, allowed pop ups from homestead. So far editing has worked well.
well see how long that lasts.

It seems to be getting ironed out. I've been able to edit while system is being fixed at sitebuilder.

I've tried everything - keeps throwing me out with every attempt to edit. Sooooo frustrating and disappointing.

I'm so sorry, I'm letting them know that it still isn't fixed.

I was able to make a few quick edits. As long as I only took a few seconds and published each edit quickly, it worked. But every time I took more time, it would throw me out.

I just updated my website using an older Windows 10 computer.  That worked fine.  Who knew.  I've been down all week trying to use my regular Windows 11 computer.

Thanks for this. I've been using Chrome & FireFox on my Win-11 - Edge better emulates Win-10, and it's working (so far, cross-my-fingers).

I was using Edge, tried Chrome, Firefox.  None of them worked for me on Windows 11 computer.

@linda2341 You forgot to twist your tongue, cross your fingers and toes, cross your eyes, and count to 100 ... that in the fine print...

@mark9227 lol, you're right.  I did forget all those things.  I'm in the process of checking into Hostinger to see if I can move my website to them.  I've about had it with Homestead.

I tried them, but they couldn't migrate mine - so I created a new site (web.com) and now have links on the original site pointing people to the new one. So, as long as the original is online, even if I can't edit it, I can move on from this fiasco. Hostinger has a 30-day money-back guarantee, so it may be worth the shot for you. They gave mine back.
