How to archive a website?
I choose the 'Archive' option and it just spins for a couple days and then stops and gives me the archive option again. I just want to grab all my website files and store them locally. There is no option to download files in the website builder - only upload.

The archive function does not work for me either. Spins and spins for hours. A computer wizard told me I needed to get the FTP address from server consisting of servername/folder or ftp requireing a hostname/IP, username and password to connect and transfer data. Greek to me.
Short version, get the ftp address and download the website. Supposed to be able to save everything. If it's an old site without fancy protections, you may be able to use a web scraper.
If anyone can make any of this work, I'd sure like to know. I'm going to call homestead help number one last time this month & see what they say about giving me a ftp.

I have been doing an archival backup of my websites on the first day of each month for a year and have never had a problem. Today is January 1, 2026, and my attempt this morning to create a new, downloadable archive for my two sites has failed for the first time. I, too, am met with a seemingly unending spinning wheel. Very frustrating!
