How do I make my site Private with a login button?

I am not seeing the tools that are needed to make my site private with a login, How do I do this and where are the tools to do this? Trying to build a private members site, that will need a login to access my website.

Go to Manage pages
in the box that opens up select Password settings
then save after you have entered your password.
