IMAP Email Setup: Windows 7 Live Mail

If you aren't sure of the difference between POP and IMAP and why you would use one or the other, please click here.

1. Go to the Accounts tab and click Email.
   
   
   
   
2. Enter your email address, password, and the Display name. Check the box for manually configure. Click Next.
   
   
   
   
3. Select IMAP. Fill in the settings:
   Incoming Server address: imap.homestead.com
   Incoming Port: 993
   Check the box "Requires a secure connection (SSL)"
   Outgoing server address: smtp.homestead.com
   Outgoing Port: 465
   Check the box "Requires a secure connection (SSL)"
   Check the box "Requires authentication"
   Click Next.
   
   
4. Click Finish.
   
   
   
   
5. Go back to the Accounts tab, and click on Properties.
   
   
   
   
6. Enter the inbox in the Root folder path. Make sure the special folders are as shown. Click OK.
