I think my account has been hacked and I cannot change my password.

I have been receiving returned email notices for emails I never sent.  I think my account has been hacked.  I have tried to change my password numerous times but after I save the password and it logs me out I cannot log in using the new password and my old password still works.  I need assistance ASAP with this problem.
