Trouble registering domain with Homestead.

I had a domain name registered with another domain service, but I created the website for the domain in Homestead. I now want to switch the domain's name to Homestead's service. I let the domain lapse with the original service and I have waited past their 20 day reactivation period that they have before the domain becomes available for purchase. The expiration date was 9/22/2024. When I try to add the domain to my Homestead account I get the message

"This domain is already associated with a website account." How can I now register the domain with Homestead??? HELP!!!

To register a domain name with Homestead, log in to your Homestead account, navigate to the "Domains" section, enter the desired domain name and extension (like ".com"), check its availability, confirm your contact information, review your order, and submit to complete the registration process; you can also manage existing domains and access their authorization codes from this section.

Key steps:
  • Login to Homestead: Access your Homestead account.
  • Go to Domains: Select the "Domains" option on the left navigation menu.
  • Enter domain name: Type the desired domain name and choose an extension (e.g., .com, .net).
  • Check availability: Click "Check Availability" to see if the domain is available.
  • Confirm details: Fill in your contact information accurately.
  • Review and submit: Review your order details and click "Submit" to finalize the registration.

I'm familiar with the Homestead's domain registration procedure. I went to "Domains" and I entered the domain name. That's when I get the message "This domain is already associated with a website account" and I can't go any further with the registration!

To transfer a domain name to a new host, you can follow these steps:
    1. Check requirements: Confirm the requirements for transferring your domain with your current domain provider.
    2. Update contact information: Make sure your contact information is up to date so that both your current and new registrars can contact you during the transfer.
    3. Get the authorization code: Obtain the authorization code, also known as the EPP code, from your current registrar. This code is a unique password that you'll need to provide to the new registrar to authorize the transfer.
    4. Unlock your domain: Unlock your domain name.
    5. Contact the new host: Start the transfer with your new domain host. You can usually do this through their website or by contacting their customer support.
  • Verify and pay: Verify and pay for the transfer.
The transfer process typically takes five to seven days, but the exact time depends on several factors, including the cooperation of the previous registrar and how quickly you receive the authorization code.

This is information that's available on the Homestead website. Having been a member since 2002 this is the first time I've had this problem. I guess I'll call the help desk.
