Site Spotlight - http://www.fountainofyouthfitness.net

http://www.fountainofyouthfitness.net

Description of your business:

I am personal trainer in Orange County, California

How did you get started in the business:

I grew up lifting weights and competed in bodybuilding contests. I was a free-agent copy writer and decided to enter the personal training business because I thought that I could do a better job than the trainers that I would see at the gym while I was doing my own workouts. Personal training is a direct-to-the-consumer business,so I felt that if I was good, I would do well.

How do you market your business:

I began by using traditional advertising in a local magazine about 10 years ago, but more recently used Google AdWords. I haven't used Google AdWords in about 18 months.I'm not currently doing any paid form of advertising, but am hoping the website serves as an advertising vehicle.

How has technology impacted my business:

Not much in terms of how I conduct my personal training, but obviously, having a website and using Google AdWords.

How important is social media:

I really haven't used social media. I'm on Facebook, but not for my business. I don't use LinkedIn or post videos on YouTube. I'm not sure that social media would be too important to my business.

Fantastic site. What made your choose AdWords and do you think you’ll try them again?

Hello and thanks for the compliment regarding my site. I chose AdWords because it allows you to target your audience, set your own monthly ad budget, and theoretically reach people who have an immediate interest in what your business offers. You only pay if they click through to your site, so it would seem to indicate a high level of interest. The clicks didn't necessarily result in as many new clients as I would have expected. I've been reading up on how to maximize your opportunity on AdWords and may try it again sometime in the near future.

Choose a larger font size. The text is too small. Very difficult to read a small white font on a blue background. The email link, the dark blue font is difficult to read. Page sizes are different on different menu item. The guy in the pic looks great but it's redundant featuring the same pic on every page. Try selecting an image that reflects the menu topic. It will enhance the site significantly!

Thanks for the reply. I will look at increasing the font size. However, each page does have a different picture, so I'm not sure what you mean by featuring the same pic on every page. Also, I'm not sure that having different page sizes is that much of an issue, especially since many people will be viewing the web pages on a smartphone. Again, I do appreciate the reply.

I stand corrected. There is a different image on each page. You may want to change up the images to reflect the menu subject matter. Personal Training may feature your client and the trainer working together or conferencing while sitting at a table working on a workout schedule. Weight management may use a image using a plate of food on a scale. Custom workouts may suit pregnant women, a client suffering from diabetes, an obese client, a 98 lb weakling, etc. Sports training may relate to biking, playing tennis, or climbing a wall. About me is about you, your education, qualifications, experience and passion for fitness. Blow you own horn and be proud of your professional aspirations. Yes, please change the font size.
