There are two different shipping method types
- Real-time shipping quotes. All real-time shipping quotes retrieve shipping rates in real-time from the shipping companies web site when someone is in the process of buying from your store. For example, if I enable and configure the UPS real-time shipping method then when it comes time for a customer to checkout and buy from my store, he/she will see a list of real-time shipping quotes that are retrieved from UPS based on the weight and physical dimensions of the products they are trying to buy. You may choose to enable multiple real-time shipping providers(e.g. UPS & FedEx) for customers to choose between.
- Fixed shipping methods. All fixed shipping methods are priced and configured from the shipping settings page and they do not need to retrieve shipping quotes from third parties.
Here are the fixed shipping methods available
- Flat Rate Per Item
- Ship By Weight
- Ship By Order Total
- Flat Rate Per Order

Store Checkout does not accept shipping address from customers?.
I have been told by customers that the store checkout will not accept their shipping address so I tried it myself. I typed in my name and address as a customer making an order and as soon as I click on the "Ship to this address" link I get the following error message.
"Unfortunately one or more items in your cart can't be shipped to your location. Please choose a different delivery address."
Is there something I have missed somewhere during the update? I have never had this problem before. It is happening during the Step 3: Shipping Details during the Store Checkout.

Changing shipping cost and then processing credit card.
How do I change shipping costs and then process the credit card ? Testing store last evening before needing to go live by Jan 15th ... Created a sale from my store, shipping charges to high, I found where to lower it, but card was already charged. I have "Authorize Only" activated. ? ?

Change shipping.
my BigCommerce Back Office shows a Pending order of $ .95, but my Credit Card Statements shows being charged $ 11.95. I thought I went in and lowered shipping costs prior to whatever happened ? I need to know how to lower shipping amount before it captures the sale. I have my Authorize.net set at Authorize only. That little credit card logo is still there telling me "click" to capture funds ... it's already captured the funds .. the incorrect funds !

But, I'm set to just "authorize" only already ... I manually lowered shipping cost and I guess I couldn't get to "capture" after that

"Your Web Tools User ID, shown above, is required to test and integrate USPS Web Tools APIs. With this ID, you may begin sending calls to the test server. Depending on the API, the address to the test server is either http://production.shippingapis.com/Sh... or https://secure.shippingapis.com/Shipp.... Use this information in combination with your User ID and your XML string to send a request to the USPS servers. For more details, refer to the programming guides (located at http://www.usps.com/webtools) for the specific API you are integrating.
A sample test request would look like: "http://production.shippingapis.com/Sh..."
When you have completed your testing, email the USPS Internet Customer Care Center (ICCC). They will switch your profile to allow you access to the production server and will provide you with the production URLs.,

I live in Canada and want to offer Free Shipping to all my customers regardless of where they live. I use Canada Post to ship. I am getting the same error message as people above when customers try to buy in the bigC storefront.
I am going to try to go through the steps above, but would like to know if there are different instructions for some one like me.
Thank you for your help.

We have our store up and running but when a customer tries to check out, they receive a message, "Cannot ship to this address, please select another". If they use Paypal checkout, there is no problem. I checked and we have zones and shipping methods set up. Did we miss something else?
Thanks

Can you give me a specific group of items to purchase and a city/state to ship to? I will find an address to try.
Thanks
