Sign Up for USPS Web Tools
1. Navigate to the USPS Registration page.

2. Enter your details and submit the registration request.

3. You should receive a confirmation message stating an email has been sent to your account with your account's login information.

4. Inside of the email you will find the USPS Web Tool Username. This will be required later in order to enable live quotes inside your Bigcommerce store.

5. Call USPS at 1-800-344-7779(7:00 AM to 11:00 PM EST daily), provide them with your username, and ask them to switch your account to the Production Server.

If USPS says that you need to perform tests before they can switch you to the production server, simply inform them that you are using a shopping cart called Bigcommerce.

Enabling USPS

3. Find Realtime Shipping Quotes switch USPS to on.

4. Choose your Display Name. We recommend you leave this as USPS.

4. Open the Connection tab and enter the Username. You can find this in the email sent to you in Step 4 above.

5. Switch the server to Production and then enable the Delivery Types you would like to offer.

If you would like USPS to calculate rates based on the dimensions you have entered for your products, set the Package Type to Large.

6. Save your changes.

Hello,

I'm having a problem with shipping on my website. I am currently using the USPS only. I have set things up as instructed. When I put items in my cart that weigh over 13 ounces and attempt to checkout, I am given a choice between "First Class at 2.82 or Priority at 6.30. The problem is, anything over 13 ounces cannot go "First Class". It seems as though 2.82 is the default price for anything anywhere domestic. I don't seem to be having a problem with international shipping. Also, when I've used the "live quote", I get the correct shipping cost. I've tried to work this out on the phone but the tech did not know how to help other than telling me that I have to fudge with the dimensions of my items to match the USPS...I don't think so?!?!

Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

Good morning Barbara9750,

We would be happy to take a look if you like.  Your's may be a different issue.  We would need to be able to log into the store.  You can call our support department if you like, or we can send you and email which you can reply to giving us log in information.

Thanks

Drew

800-710-1998.

Thanks
I already have access through USPS and have been provided all the information. I do not have the option in my shipping to select country or ANYTHING.  I have been trying to fix this for 3 days. I guess I am going to have switch providers. All that work for nothing!

It looks like you are using SimpleStore. Whenever a customer places an order, during the order they will provide the address and country and you would have to mail it out that way. If you are curious about our advanced storefront, you may see more of these features to edit there. You can see more about the storefront here
