File manager contains no files. Where are they?

I needed to rename pages, so I followed instructions to "save as", which I did. Instructions say to go to file manager and delete old page. File manager contains none of my files. Only one file is there which are images that were attached to the site at commencement. Why are there no files there and how do I delete the old pages?
