Bing is Giving Me a Fling!

trying to verify my website with Bing the same way I did with Google. I copied and pasted the HTML code provided by Bing into my header. When I published the site numbers appeared in the header.

If I understand correctly when you place the code in the header it is not supposed to be visible to the site viewer. I am doing something wrong but I don't know what.
