Sept. 4, 2013 - Announcement: Intuit Websites transition to Homestead

As you may know, we began combining the Intuit Websites and Homestead brands back in January, and we are excited to announce the transition will be complete by September 11, 2013. The consolidation of the brands will help us focus our efforts on an even greater customer experience and further develop and improve our SiteBuilder and related services.
Your services and how you manage your account will not change as a result of this transition. However, the way customers access your website will, and you may need to make some changes to accommodate this.

YOUR WEBSITE ADDRESS MAY BE CHANGING

If visitors currently access your site at yoursite.intuitwebsites.com, the new site address will be yoursite.homestead.com
While your website functionality will not be affected by the upcoming changes, the Intuit Websites subdomain that visitors use to access your website will change to a Homestead subdomain on September 11, 2013.

To ensure you have plenty of time to facilitate this change, visitors who go to your current Intuit Websites subdomain will automatically be redirected to your new address until November 1, 2013. After this time, visitors will not be able to reach your site at the Intuit Websites subdomain.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IF YOUR WEBSITE IS ON A SUBDOMAIN
By November 1, 2013, you will need to update your marketing materials and campaigns to reflect your new “Homestead” subdomain.
We recommend you begin making these changes as soon as your web address changes to be sure you catch everything. Here are just a few of the things that might require an update:

  • Email marketing campaigns
  • Pay-per-click campaigns, such as Google AdWords
  • Online ad campaigns
  • Printed materials, including flyers, brochures and business cards
  • Print advertisements
  • Links from directories or partners who link to your site

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IF YOUR WEBSITE IS ON A DOMAIN
If you initially published your website to an Intuit Websites subdomain (yoursite.intuitwebsites.com) before securing a domain, and have any marketing campaigns or materials that still point to that subdomain, you’ll need to change those campaigns to point to your domain. See above. This is because the subdomain will change to a Homestead subdomain (yoursite.homestead.com) on September 11, 2013. Visitors to the Intuit Websites subdomain will automatically be redirected to your new Homestead subdomain until November 1, 2013, but after this time, visitors who come to your Intuit Websites subdomain will no longer reach your website. Again, if you have no marketing campaigns that point to your Intuit Websites subdomain, then no action is needed from you.

ACCESSING YOUR ACCOUNT & EDITING YOUR SITE
To access your account from our Homestead Websites brand, simply log into Homestead.com with the same credentials you’ve used in the past. Once logged into your account, you may access and edit your site as you have always done.
