Similar Domain Names

I have received an e-mail from the Chinese "Intellectual Property Office" (maybe a scam?) claiming that a Chinese company has applied to use my domain name with just about any possible extension except .com (.in, .co.in, .asia, etc.). They want me to confirm that I do not object to them using my name with another extension. I have the .com domain through Homestead but I don't know if I should be worried. What should I do? Any help would be appreciated as I do not know anything about this subject.
