problem with our parent domain

Most hits at our domain  egyptcc.org  are redirected from the parent domain  egyptucc.org, which leads us to believe that we're missing a lot of direct hits. Is there a way of eliminating that parent domain so that our current domain stands alone, but that won't damage our current domain?

Hello,

You do have both domains pointing to the same website, you just have a domain redirect to change the name in the address bar for one of them. Even if you didn't have that, both domains would pull up the same website.

You could delete the domain you don't want people using, but you may miss out on traffic if you do that.

What I imagine is happening is that the domain that gets the most traffic is older, which means it most likely has better natural SEO. If you delete it, over time, the newer domain would get more of those "direct hits", but you would have to be ok taking a hit to your SEO and website traffic while that happens. Unfortunately, SEO takes an undetermined amount of time, so I couldn't give an estimate for how long that would take.
