Possible hijacking of internet keywords

Hello all, looking for some advice/insight here. 

I have a website called mineral-paradise.net, I have had it since 2000 

I received an email from someone at a company called Net Registry in China advising me that a Chinese company want to use Mineral-Paradise as "their" internet keyword as well as register Mineral-paradise.net.cn/com.cn as domain names for use in China. The person at Net Registry had advised them that Mineral-Paradise was already taken and that they should use another name.

I then received an email from the company involved that they were going to persist with their application even though they were advised otherwise. 

Is this something that I should be worried about even though I have no dealings with anyone in China?. 

Is this something that others have experienced?.
