I checked out your websites (fire dept, historical, etc.) by searching on Google for your email address and noticed that none of the websites were secured with https and all showed as "not-secure". According to many threads on this forum sites that are not secured with https will not show any stat/visitor information.

That could be because the sites were built and published using desktop sitebuilder. You should also know that even following the directions on the link below to secure your sites as directed using desktop sitebuilder will NOT secure your sites. You must use sitebuilder plus. I don't know why but don't panic it's pretty easy but it will take a little time.

First go to https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/can-i-secure-my-homestead-website-with-https and set your site servers up as directed using Cloudflare. Be sure to follow the directions exactly to the letter or you'll create more problems.

I started using desktop sitebuilder to add/edit pages way back in 2002. For all the pages that need to be secured with https I'll open desktop sitebuilder then add a period or number someplace and then remove it. Just do something, anything to require using the SAVE button. To be safe you should do this to all pages in the website that are published and seen by the public.

Don't publish anything. Instead go into File Manager on desktop sitebuilder, highlight the pages then UPLOAD the page or pages. This works on multiple pages using the control key on your keyboard and the mouse.

Once all pages have been uploaded from desktop sitebuilder, NOT PUBLISHED, open up your website for editing using sitebuilder plus. At the same time open up your website using using your domain name in another browser window. The domain name in another window is just so you can see what it looks like when published using sitebuilder plus. Sites using the homestead address can look a bit different from the same site using your domain name.

Using sitebuilder plus add a period or number again and then remove it. You may also have to move/adjust some things around a bit as desktop site builder and sitebuilder plus present/show things a little differently. But what shows in sitebuilder plus is a closer representation of what shows in different browsers, IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari. Be sure to hit the SAVE button for every page when done. Publish and check it out using your domain name. Any adjustments need to be made using sitebuilder plus.

On new pages you may have to refresh the browser window before they show in sitebuilder plus after uploading from desktop sitebuilder.

Any edits will have to be made using sitebuilder plus or you'll lose your https and therefore your stats. I also don't recommend using this process all the time. It may take a bit of time but you should learn to use sitebuilder plus.

This may not work for everybody, but it worked for me.

Hi Steve, your explanation is greatly appreciated and seems easier to understand than most, cause I've been holding my breath for the team to fix the stats for the old desktop builder users which I've been using that almost as long as you had. I added an account for Google Analytics to track my web users but it is far to complicated to follow all the choices they give you there to track. I liked the Homestead tracking system for Stats, is it similar to the old Tracking Stats version?  Did you use the free Cloudflare version or another? I have maybe 40 pages to "fix", how long did it take you to get to have your new built site. I like what I have and don't really want to rebuild using another template in another builder. using the detailed Cloudflare instructions seemed complicated to me and I even took a Web builder course years ago. can you post your website so we can see what you have done?
thanks for your help
Donna

I used the free version of Cloudflare.

I didn't build or re-build anything. Just did something to require hitting SAVE on the page.

There's nothing new about the stats or the way they're presented. Same old stats we've had for years.

My site is much smaller than 40 pages but it took an hour or so to create the Cloudflare account and make the described changes to the website.

I did change the navigation menu using sitebuilder plus.

thanks for info, your site is very informative and works well. I like what I have created with desktop using a bed and breakfast template and erasing mot of it. can I send you mine to see if maybe you'll let me know if you see something I might run into a problem with? I'd appreciate it cause it's a lot of work for anyone transferring over to something else. I test mine on various mobile devices and desktops as well. I build on my desktop due to vision problems and couldn't do any of it with my phone because of size of viewing. thanks

Sure, I'll take a look.

If you're interested I'll send you the directions for making mobile friendly pages using desktop. Just to warn you though, there's several scripts you'll need to add in the advanced section of desktop pages and most scripts will need editing of the final domain address. I have a "mobile friendly" link at the bottom of each page. They will still need to be published using sitebuilder plus but can be created using desktop.

Hello Emil0819,

The reason your site stats are not showing currently is due to the domain not having the ssl applied yet, once it is added the sites stats will track and display accordingly. It typically takes about 5-10 minutes to set up cloudflare and here are the steps to do so. https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/can-i-secure-my-homestead-website-with-https
