Why is my bill so much more expensive this year than in year's past? If anything, your services are worse now than they have ever been!

Why is my bill so much higher this year than ever before? I have not added any additional services! You literally swapped the digits in my price and thought I wouldn't notice?  How can you go from having a Subscription Fee-Website Starter No Domain Package- Annual fee go from $59.88 last year to $95.88 this year?? This better be resolved quickly before I dispute the charge with my bank and bring this matter to the Attorney General.

Yes, my account summary is exactly the same as last year, except the digits in the price of the Website Starter No Domain Package are swapped.  It went from $59.88 last year to $95.88 this year!  Everything else is the same.   That is a $36 increase for no reason.

You can use that number to call the staff. I'm sure they'll be happy to respond to your concerns. Drew will pick up your inquiry directly from your community post. Seems like a reasonable request. No need to fire up your Attorney General.

There was a cost of doing business increase in November of $2.00/month - $24.00/yr. That would account for a portion of the increase you are seeing. Drew will be in tomorrow and will see your post and respond. He isn't available by phone.

Hi Judith3173, I will look into this for you and get it resolved. As Susan mentioned, there was a $2/month increase that we announced here in the community and by email blast. I am sorry if something happened that you did not receive it. Somehow, a few accounts were changed by $3/month, which seems to be what happened in your case. I'll let you know when I have it straightened out.

I got the account updated to the correct pricing now, and have issued you a refund for the difference. It turns out a little higher because of the annual promotion pricing. You should see it in back on your card in a few days.

Dear Drew, thanks for the prompt response. I admittedly freaked out last night and thought Homestead is trying to pull a fast one by switching digits. I do not recall receiving an email about rate hikes. Do you happen to know approximately when it was sent? I look forward to getting this remedied quickly. Ever since I changed to a Mac, Homestead has been quirky, unreliable, and often frustrating to use and I find it does not keep up with the market even in the slightest (I.e. They still have "Follow Me in MySpace" icons, but no "Follow Me on Instagram." Who uses MySpace??)

I understand about the older social media. The new Websitebuilder has more updated options. Unfortunately, it does require rebuilding the site, as the 2 builders are totally incompatible. Your Sitebuilder site can still be used and you can add any desired social buttons by getting the HTML from your social account and adding an HTML box. I have run into quite a few Mac users that have had quirkiness with Safari. Try using Chrome or Firefox and you should see better results.

I do use Chrome. The problems still exist. The same quirkiness occurs. It occurs after 30-45 minutes of constant use, rather than the first 5 minutes when using Safari.

I haven't done any massive remodeling of the site in the last several months. I am drawing on my experience when I was remodeling which was probably a year and a half ago or so. I was on Chrome and if I tried to copy and paste , it would copy and paste the selected material four or five times. When I tried to delete or "Undo", it would delete the entire text box regardless of the amount of content within the box.

Sorry, notification was sent on October 3rd, 2016. The packages were updated with the new pricing on November 3rd, 2016. The new charge would be implemented at the next billing period.
