When using the new Homestead Websitebuilder the site statistics are available inside the editor itself. Launch the editor and look to the menu on the left side. You will see the built in statistics labeled as stats, near the bottom of the editor.

You can also use Google Analytics on the new Websitbuilder. Click on Manage, then on Google Analytics. You can follow the directions for creating your Google Analytics account. Google will provide you with an Analytics ID to enter in the builder.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Where do I see site statistics?.

I added the Webmaster Tools meta tag; but Webmaster Tools says it is formatted incorrectly. I pasted exactly what it gave me. When I look at the code produced by Homestead, it has backslashes embedded. The only place I found to add a meta tag was in Page Management. I added it for the homepage. After publishing the site this is the code that I see in the code viewer:

I am not sure why I see that method fail so often. Try verifying by alternate method. Select Domain provider. Then from the list, select Other. You will be provided a TXT record. Copy the record and log in to Homestead. Click on the domains tab. Then on Advanced DNS settings. Click Edit and scroll down to TXT records. Paste the record and save. You may need to wait a bit, but this method is much easier to verify.

When I pasted the code under Google Analytics it didn't work. So I pasted it under Advanced > Site Meta Tags and it works fine.

I followed the instructions you gave Drew. It looks like Google Webmaster Tools is picking up a TXT record that was there previous to my adding the verify record.  Do I delete the first record?

No, it is just showing what it can see. That record will not cause the failure. You may just need to wait a few minutes for it to propagate. Did their instructions specify to use the name Googleverify? That would be new to me, but is possible.
