When are you going to kill my offline "Homestead SiteBuilder Version 1"?
In other words, when are you going to make it no longer work?

This is the actual full description of the version I have used for years.
(Homestead SiteBuilder Version 1 (.NET) built at 2014-09-09 13:22)

Sincerely
Keith

One of these days, the internet environment will evolve to the stage where it will no longer survive in the new internet atmosphere.

I didn't recognize you at first R.M., been awhile since we chatted on here, how you been? ;-)

I know the internet is evolving, so is my business...with less and less work each month!
People are getting away from computers and using phones or tablets more and more,
which is bad for computer repair work. ;-(
The good news is....I am much older now and semi retired.

With this new builder, it's just hard to teach an old dog new tricks! ;-)

Hi Keith: I just celebrated my 70th birthday. I'm working 7 days a week at my retail store to pay my business debt and shop expenses. I'm living on my social security income. Retail business is very tough. Rent and expense are always going higher and more customer are using the internet to purchase.

I tried to move to the new Websitebuilder but had little patience with it. I shut down my SB+ site with the simple store and I've built a great Bigcommerce site.: napasewandvac.com. I found Bigcommerce easy. I should have done this years ago. Bigcommerce is phone friendly. Products can be ordered using any device. It's the way to go if you're offering products for sale online.

Learning the new Websitebuilder may be a challenge for you now. It's not because you're an old dog however. It's just that you understand the process you've been using and you're resisting taking on the challenge head on. Others have had the same experience, but after working with it awhile, they changed their tune. It's a responsive program build for the future. "Bite the bullet" and start working on a new site while maintaining your old one. You can move over when you're ready.

I like your comment R.M.,
Happy Late 70th...Congratulations! :-)

I only sell rebuilt computers, here and there, to customers ever now and then, but never sell to strangers per say....so a site like yours wouldn't do me any good.

My website is mostly for their information.

It's near impossible to send out an informative e-mail to my 5,000+ customer data base, because of the number of e-mails that can be sent out, per day with Hotmail.  They have restrictions on how many can be sent out, so they cut me off for 24 hours after I have sent 500.
I just found having a webpage, they can go to, made better sense.

I have never used Homestead's e-mail program, so its not them I have the issue with involving e-mails.

Sincerely Keith

themieleman is correct, as he often is. We aren't doing anything to take down that program. It is just slowly becoming inoperable due to incompatibility. We will likely eventually take the program down for good but have no set plans to do so. I recommend using this as an opportunity to move your sites over a slowly, when you have time, to prevent downtime.

Of course, let me know if there is anything else I can do.
