I have registered the domain name I want for my blog and would like to, as much as I can, use homestead services to run my blog. What is the best way to do that? Should I just point the domain toward an 3rd-party blog host?

It really depends on the functionality that you need for your blog. The blog that is build into SiteBuilder works fine, but it is a very simple one. It does not allow visitors to create their own profiles and log in. If you want a more sophisticated blog, then yes, you will probably want to point the domain to the 3rd party.

Hi Leisa, Yes, and there are multiple ways to do this. Would you be using the domain with a site hosted here at Homestead and also bhe Blogger site. Or would the Blogger site be the only site you are using the domain with?

If you have a Homestead site and a Blogger site, then you would probably want to create a sub-domain such as "blog.yiorudomainname.com" So that anyone that types in "www.yourdomain.com" goes to the main site, but then you can link "blog.yourdomain.com" to the blog site.

Let us know what you have in mind and we'll point you in the right direction.

At this point it is just going to be a stand alone blog. I have a website that, later, when I decide to integrate the two I can use. For example. My website www.livewelldreambig.net will have a link or tab for my www.TheseNextSevenYears.com blog site.

Leisa, This page shows the process to point the domain to the blogger page. If you are not familiar with this process let us know and we'll help you update the dns records: https://support.google.com/blogger/tr...
