I sent an email to a group of my customers and copied myself on it, but the email in my inbox eventually appeared as strikethrough through the title, name, etc. and when I open the email there is a red x over the envelope in the lower right below the email headers field. See photo here.  I dont' know if I hit a wrong button when it arrived to my inbox or what, but am wondering what the red x is.

Do you have your email set up with a mail client?

no just the exchange that comes with homestead.  Apparently I somehow clicked mark as delete which is what caused the line through. Why would we want to mark something as deleted versus just deleting it.

One of setting it to be deleted after a certain amount time, and one immediately sends it to the trash can. It's just a setting that can be applied with mail clients.
