Exploring WebsiteBuilder and comparing to SiteBuilder Desktop.  The new WebsiteBuilder definitely enhances sites -- it brings them a much more contemporary look and I've found a lot of things that are nice about WebsiteBuilder.  But there are some simple things that I'm wondering about... Appreciate any help!

Photos - In SB I can click on the photo and see the photo dimensions and even type in dimensions to adjust to a different photo size.  I don't see this option in WB.  Does it exist?!

Copying/Pasting - In SB, I can copy text and paste it on the same or even a different page and size information and links are all retained.  In other words, I am able to paste the exact thing I copied.  In WB, I lose all size info and links -- even when pasting onto the same page.  Is there a way to copy & paste that way.

Page List - In WB there is a drop down menu with the page names.  How many pages does this drop down hold?  I add new pages daily and do not delete old pages.  I imagine that drop down will get pretty messy pretty quick.

I'll have plenty more questions...

Another question  -  I want to delete an element and I get a notice that it is a Master Page Element.  I don't want it to be -- I only want it to appear on one page.  I see the "Master Page" setting option but it's not turned on.  Confused...

Photos:
Click Elements in the left hand menu.
Choose Images
Find the image you want and click on it
Click Edit in the upper tool bar
This will show you the image you selected
Click the Resize option. This shows the current size and allows you to change the size. You'll need to click Apply and then give the edited photo a new name and place it on the page and delete the original.

Copy/Paste:
Unfortunately this is another area where the developers fell down on.  The pasted info doesn't retain the original formatting, only the text.

Page List:
Not sure how many it will take.

Thanks Susan.  Yeah, I saw the edit area. The thing is I don't actually need to edit the photo.  It is the dimensions it's supposed to be.  When I click "edit" it shows that it is the correct dimensions.  But it was not rendering full size.  It loaded onto the page really small.  And I could drag the corners to expand but I don't know when I've reached full size, so I may end up going too big, etc...  it just seems crazy to leave out such a useful tool that was in SB Desktop.

I agree Josh, it definitely is something the developers need to work on.

Forms and Polls?  I see a Contact Form template but I don't see anything like the form building options in SB.  Drop down menus, submit buttons, etc... I ran a major campaign using this tool earlier this year... hundreds of businesses, hundreds of thousands of votes, etc... is there really not this basic tool in WebsiteBuilder?

You're ferreting out all the weak points in this new builder. :)  The form is limited and has no drop downs unfortunately. You may find what you need at www.mycontactform.com and I'm sure there are other 3rd party programs as well.

Yeah, not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but ferreting out all the weak points is exactly what I'm trying to do.  I want to know exactly what it does and what it doesn't do before I decide whether or not I'm going to start using it.  There are definitely things I like about it but I care more about function than fashion.  The new WebsiteBuilder sites look more like "today's" sites but the real determination of whether a site is good is how many people are using/viewing/reading the content, not how pretty or contemporary it looks.  A site that "looks" good but does nothing isn't what I need.

Didn't mean to imply you were being a 'DD'. Just impressed that you are finding all the weak points in this new builder. I agree that it is lacking in many ways. I believe the developers designed it for the people who have a few pages that don't require a lot of input, just the bare minimum in regards to functionality. Hopefully they will pay attention to the posts and make some necessary changes.
