I have constant problems with this site being down all the time. I think it is hacked some how. Everytime I check it, it is off line with a 521 error. What is going on here? Can you please check into this once and for all? I pay more for this 50cent site than any others and they are up 99.9% of time. I have verified with ICANN. I have switched nameservers to Cloudflare as was requested last year, and it is still happening. I have tried to check who I am hosted with and it is Tucows, but I never have used them, so they must be your provider. I can't get into their DNS to check because of this. It is somewhere with the nameservers or DNS.
Can someone please help me out and REALLY check into this, or I guess it is time to finally move after 8 years.

Hi- I am here on the east coast and I can't say that I have had ANY down time at all.  Not recently, not in the past couple of years.  You haven't said, but are you possibly still on SiteBuilder Plus? Is your site  If so, you should really consider rebuilding it in Website Builder.  It's sooooo much better and quite reliable.  While your mobile site is OK, it is still a bit hard to read.
I have built and managed over 30 sites and rebuilding in Website Builder might seem a bit daunting, but it's worth it.  Wishing you well.   PS:  If this IS your site, then I can get to it with no problem.

REVIEW: Community Tip - Fixing Error 521: Web server is down - DNS ... › community-tip-fixing-error-521-web-...

Nov 24, 2018 - Try the suggestions in this Community Tip to help you fix Error 521: Web server is down. A 521 error happens when we are unable to make a TCP connection to your origin server. Specifically, Cloudflare tried to connect to your origin server on port 80 or 443, but received a connection refused error.

I can see that your domain is pointing to Cloudflare nameservers, which is where this 521 error is originating from. I cannot see inside of your Cloudflare account to troubleshoot, so I would recommend you actually call in to have someone walk through these settings with you.

Thanks for everyones input! I appreciate it.

However, Cloudflare says it is Homestead, Homestead says it is Cloudflare. This is what I get from them....

Error 521: web server is down

Error 521 occurs when the origin web server refuses connections from Cloudflare. Security solutions at your origin may block legitimate connections from certain Cloudflare IP addresses.

The two most common causes of 521 errors are:

    Offlined origin web server application
    Blocked Cloudflare requests

Contact your site administrator or hosting provider to eliminate these common causes:

Ensure your origin web server is responsive
Review origin web server error logs to identify web server application crashes or outages.
Confirm Cloudflare IP addresses are not blocked or rate limited
Whitelist all Cloudflare IP ranges in your origin web server's firewall or other security software

SO-----Who IS the origin webserver? Are the Cloudflare addresses blocked? Does Homestead have a firewall? Who really is my hosting provider? How does Tucows come into all of this? I NEED to get this resolved. Can anyone explain the hierarchy of my entire account here? This is getting to be ridiculous I just need SOMEONE to help me. Everyone is pointing their finger at the other guy. Can you explain to me why I need to use Cloudflare? Is it all because you people dont offer a free SSL for $10.00 a month for a 2 page website? Elyzabeth, do you have a place I could send my password to you for Cloudflare to troubleshoot?

Thank you for any help anyone can give to get this finally resolved. I would truly appreciate it.

Kind regards,

James Allen

That error is typically due to incorrect settings in the cloud flare account. If you don't mind I can work with you and provide you my email address so you can send your log in credentials to. If you do not feel comfortable with that it would be best to call into support so we can help get this resolved.

Hi Michelle,

I would very much like that. Please write to and I will give you my name and pass.
If you dont have time or dont feel like it, could you at least just tell me what is suppose to be set in the zone files? (I mean exactly the way it is suppose to appear)

Thank you so much for your help. I truly appreciate it!

Kind regards,
