Unable to publish my site. All the sudden I get a message that says I need to be connected to the internet, but I clearly am connected to the internet.  Screenshot attached. Help!

Yes, you are clearly online!  Do a save and sign out.  Open it again.  I saw this a few times long ago.  That worked for me.  Good luck.

Hello,

Here is my response from another question about this same issue:

The cause of this issue is unfortunately that this program is very old and very outdated. A recent security update has made the downloadable builder too incompatible to function. The update was necessary for the safety and security of all accounts, so we cannot roll back this change. We have informed our engineering team that the change has affected the functionality of the Desktop program, and they will see if there a workaround they can put in place to allow the program to continue to work.

At this point, my best suggestion would be to try to use Sitebuilder Plus. This is the online version of the same program you've been using. Most people will see their site, and be able to edit through Sitebuilder Plus. For those that have their sites uploaded to this program, the only thing that will be inaccessible would be any updates you made yesterday or today. To access this builder, you just need to log into your Homestead account and click on Websites Manager.

Again, I am so sorry for the trouble and we will let you know of any updates on this issue.

So the homestead company didn't /doesn't have the business sense, ability or foresight to "update" and "build on" their own desktop version of the site builder program???
And it has the balls to continue to sell the very same "program" right now on the home page of homestead.com??
If our only option is to use sitebuilder plus ~ online ~ is homestead going to reimburse me for my overage of data use?
My main site won't even load in Plus - I get an error message!
Just tried one of my smaller site; elements are not in the same position and copying and pasting removes all font treatments {bold, links etc}
Bloody hell ~ I am pissed!!

And why to hell is the homestead footer now at the bottom of every page?????
Why would we promote a company's site builder that the company itself admits as  [quote]  "is very old and very outdated" ... and you know longer care to service your own software or care for your customers????

And I have about 20 sites with Homestead and using the sitebuilder is vital...not just the simple lite that they offer. Aren't thousands of their customers upset at this?? This is ridiculous. What can we do? I don't want to change to another system after 15 years...I am just stuck and also really pissed to put it bluntly. They MUST figure out some solution or their whole business is going down the tubes. Come on folks...speak up.

Thanks for the info on the alternatives ~ appreciated.  Appears we are to be penalized yet again for not living in a city where internet options abound.

Repeated "saves" is going to eat up data very quickly .... if Homestead even allows me to access our site via the Plus

You have data limits?  I am not sure I understand why that would be "normal" in these days.  In any case, their number is 1-800-710-1998  (it's actually in that error message picture you sent me)  As an alternative, just for now, you MIGHT try signing into your homestead account and when you open the website manager, there is an option in the upper right corner of the box that says "add new website" assuming your account level (I'm on Gold" lets you have more than one site in your account.  Poke around in the templates, pick one and build a new/temporary site pretty quickly by using your old site info.  You COULD open your existing site in a separate window, just like anyone in the public and cut and paste the text and files.  You can do everything you did in SB+ from the tools on the right and using the ADVANCED tools whenever you see that option in the section you are working in.  Sections is the container, elements are just about everything you need IN the container and the advanced tools are the controls on colors, styles, anchors, actions.  And you can also toggle between the mobile and desktop versions to see how they are looking.

Yes - we have data limits - 50 gb/mth which costs me $100/mth.  I haven't found out what the overage charge is and don't intend to!!!   Biggest plan available to us.  Why would I build a  new site - I can't even load our old site to insert a link to redirect our viewers????
Our ranch site is information rich; pedigrees, pictures etc of our cattle and horses detailed since 2002 when I began our website .... 13,024 Files, 144 Folders as of my last backup!  Thank goodness I don't have our domain names or email registered with Homestead!  www.DelormeRanch.ca  I am aware of their number and they WILL BE receiving a call.  I bet their lines are clogged in the near future!

Wow that is a lot of files and I can see why you might be overwhelmed with the magnitude of the idea of upgrading/rebuilding.  I also see why you are having HS messages at the bottom.  Your domain is not properly pointed and on mobile it is just a miniature version of your desktop which makes Google unhappy because it's hard to read.  Do call them this morning.
