Trying to update email on domain

I am trying to update my email on my domain and, after repeated attempts, different days, the message I continue to receive is: "Unable to Complete Your Registration We are currently unable to register your domain. Please try again at a later time."  How can this be fixed?

You appear to have transferred that domain to domain.com a few months ago. You would need to update the contact information there.

I did not make any transfer.  How can I begin tracking down what occurred?

The transfer was initiated on 9/14/2017 and it was done via the email address on the domain which was klmb5859@yahoo.com
