My desktop site has some items placed vertically, and the mobile version of the site places them side-by-side. Specifically, the image of a guitar is placed to the right of a text box, squashing both.

You would need to go into the mobile editor and move any elements that are not displaying the way you want them to.

You make it sound easy. I already tried that. Can you go into some detail please? I'm paying for this...

You should be able to click an element and drag it up or down until you see the black marker placed where you want that element to go. If you are having trouble with that, you can certainly call to try to get more assistance.
