Many elements play an important role in your website. It is the use of many different elements to showcase your business or services that will set your website apart from others. If a website is just full of text, people will not be as interested. If your page is full of dozens of pictures with no context, people will not take the time to look at them all. It is a good idea to include a mix of media in with the text and buttons and other elements on your website. Overall, this will improve the interest and engagement for your site.

Videos, especially short and eye-catching videos briefly giving a description of your business or service, are an excellent way to quickly grab the attention of your site visitor. As long as it is done well, a nicely presented video with good audio and visuals that are clear and informational, will have a huge impact on how long people stay on your site. You only have a small window of time to catch a persons attention. You need to use this time to the best of your ability.

A good example of a way to do this would be to create an introductory video for your Home page. You could also do a "Meet The Team" video, a promotional video for sales or events, or a testimonials video. From a marketing perspective, videos are so important. Videos can easily be shared via social media sites, which can drive traffic. It helps you to quickly deliver your message and be entertaining at the same time, all while you strengthen your brand personality. Additionally, posting that video to Youtube and linking back to your website is also a great way to increase your audience.

Audio can deliver a familiar jingle or catchphrase for your business. It can also serve to grab attention to something specific on your website. If you're a singer, audio would be very important to display your performances. It all depends on what you need to do with your website.

Images, infographics, and animations also create a break from the monotony that text can provide on a website, to create an interesting and engaging way to deliver information. Infographics are used as a powerful tool to allow people to easily take in the information you want to present through the use of visual data, charts, and statistics. They help transform information into memorable, attention-grabbing and even persuasive graphics.

Quick stats:
  • 51% of marketing professionals worldwide name video as the type of content with the best ROI.
  • Social video generates 12 times more shares than text and images combined
  • An infographic is 30 times more likely to be read than a purely textual article.
  • Approximately 65 percent of the population are visual learners

Great idea! But how do I create a video and post it to You Tube or make it visible when people visit my website? Waiting to hear your reply!

Hello Bill,

As long as you have a video file that you either recorded or have obtained, you can create a free YouTube account and upload your video there. Once you have uploaded your video you can add that video to your site with these instructions https://community.homestead.com/homestead/topics/sitebuilder-plus-add-a-youtube-video
