Hi, I am seeking help from an expert about an email sent by Paypal with a subject “Notification of changes Required to you paypal integration”.

My sites domain name is gmpsop.com. In the email Paypal wrote “We’ve identified that the security upgrades we are making will require changes to your PayPal integration”. Paypal is asking to improve my site with regards to SSL Certificate – System Upgrade for SHA-256 compatibility and TLS 1.2 and HTTP/1.1 Upgrade.

Would you please urgently respond to me what action do I need to satisfy this requirement from Paypal.

Dear, I have read the documentation. I would like to know being a site builder user from Homestead do I need to do anything? We don't have access to Homestead server. Can someone please guide me here what is required here either from me or from Homestead? Appreciate all the help.

HI Sami, the link Payal have sent you explains that the information is of a highly technical nature and should be reviewed by your web hosting Company, your ecommerce provider or in house web programme system administrator. Based on that information I will confidently assume that as Homestead are our web hosting Company it is something they will be well aware of the upgrade due to come into force in 2017. Basicaly what Paypal saying is that they are upgrading their security to process online payments and that web hosting Companies will need to ensure their website software is compatible. I have Paypal on my site and am not concerned about the forthcoming changes so please dont panic. I will wait to see what the tech guys say.

Thank you very much Brian. You get my 100% vote for the reply. I do not have any in-house programmer or System Administrator. My site is built and hosted through Homestead site builder and linked with third party sources such as Paypal as payment processing gateway, E-Junkie for electronic document delivery and e-commerce, Authpro for membership management etc. Any payment processing occurs through Paypal buttons. Basically, I have everything outsourced but operating under a common roof of my domain which is again hosted by Homestead. Hence, I believe many members like me do not have any direct involvement with the security update from Paypal. Please correct me if I am wrong. I am feeling relieved. At least for the time being.

No you are quite correct Sami, as Todd has replied its a Paypal security update that will affect every website on the web using Paypal as an online payment portal. So, no need to worry, as web host, Homestead will ensure their software stays current with paypal.

Hi Sami4631, I can completely understand your concern, but I can assure you that Homestead will make sure to stay current with PayPal!
