Here's how you find the file manger:

  1. Click on the Websites Manager in the left navigation menu. Then, click Edit Site.

  2. Click your domain name or sitename at the top. Then, choose View File Manager from the drop-down menu.

FINDING "FILE MANAGER".

I can't find File Manager on my site. It was there, once upon a time - but now it's gone! When I bring a page up to edit, and I'm asked if I want to start from the last save or not, it doesn't make any difference which option I choose, I still can't get the File Manager.

I have the new Microsoft operating system (8 ?). Could this have anything to do with it?

It won't matter that you are on Win 8. Follow the steps above, and let us know if you get stuck.

We currently do not offer an FTP service, but, you can upload 3rd party files directly into the File Manager through the SiteBuilder software.

If you've created web pages with any 3rd party software, you can upload them through our SiteBuilder even if you don't use our SiteBuilder to create the site. The hosting plan you are currently signed up for will only accommodate a 3 page site but we have numerous upgrades or other plans available if that is not enough. If you still have questions please let us know.

You can upload the file to the File Manager as shown here. Then just create a standard link to the file.

If you are imagining the PPT presentation being viewed online like it's part of the website, you'll have to convert it to a web friendly format. Depending on your version of PPT, you may be able to just click Save As and convert it to html, while later versions of PPT do not allow this. Here's a link that may help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/980553

The answer to “Where is the file manager located?”, shown in the help topics here ...

Please advise where I can find the File Manager in the newest version of Sitebuilder Plus.

Thank you.

If you designed the site with other software, you can still host it with us, but you will have to upload all the site files through Homestead's SiteBuilder software using the File Manager as shown above.

Use the file manager to create a folder and then enter the folder and you can then import pictures from your hard drive in bulk.

, Follow the steps above to access the File Manager.  Once you are in the File Manger, you'll see an Import button on the top menu.  Just import the html file and click the publish button.

Managing files tab missing.

Problem: Under the website manager tab, the link to "managing files" is missing. There is no way to reach files to add to or change them. A chat assistant shared a link with me that works for now, but it would be much easier if the original link was restored.

That makes sense.  Sorry for the confusion. I see you are referring to the Websites Manager page on the Homestead website not the Websites Manager link in the Sitebuilder program.

Yes, that link was there for years and I'm not sure why the developers removed it.  The best solution I have is to save the link above as a bookmark, then when you log in to homestead.com, you can still access it with just one click by clicking the bookmark instead.

Also FYI.. I'll  leave that link because it's universal for everyone. It only works if they are logged into their own account. They won't see your account info.

Is there any way to request that the developers replace it, considering that it was useful? Perhaps they thought no one used it.

Good morning Larry7455,

I am not sure how you have been seeing it, because it was removed a couple of years ago.  At this time there are no plans on replacing it, as we have the Sitebuilder Plus file manager.  You may bookmark this link as Mike suggested and use it when you get logged in to the account.

Thanks
